Head of Product, Digital Assets · Solana Foundation
Building the internet capital market. Former Visa crypto pioneer. Payments executive, quantitative economist, on-chain builder.

Catherine Gu is the Head of Product, Digital Assets at the Solana Foundation, where she leads the development of infrastructure enabling institutional adoption of on-chain finance. A quantitative economist by training and a builder by conviction, she has spent the past decade at the intersection of traditional finance and blockchain — first understanding how money moves, then redesigning the rails it moves on.
Her career spans macro hedge funds in London at Man Group, graduate research at Stanford, and six years at Visa as one of the earliest members of its crypto team. At Visa she built and launched VTAP— the Visa Tokenized Asset Platform — and led CBDC pilot programs with central banks in Singapore, Brazil, and Hong Kong. An early encounter with Hayek's writing on the denationalization of money redirected her toward crypto; the ensuing decade turned that intellectual curiosity into production infrastructure.
At Solana, Catherine is focused on building the public infrastructure that makes Solana the internet capital market — a financial system for the next six billion people. Her first product launch was the Solana Developer Platform: a compliance-first, API-native toolkit enabling any enterprise to tokenize assets, orchestrate payments, and build on-chain from day one.
